IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY
By Ray Cooney
29th September - 7th October 2006, 7.30 pm
Relishing the prospect of a knighthood for his work in neurology, Dr David Mortimore is aghast at the arrival of an old flame who announces that their liaison years ago produced a son who is downstairs and desperate to meet his dad. Frantic to hide this catastrophic news from his wife and the hospital authorities, David is forced into wild invention in this classic from the modern master of farce.
Produced by Mary Lenanton
QUARTET
By Ronald Harwood
17th - 25th November 2006, 7.30pm
On a summer's day in a home for retired musicians, three old friends, once the brightest stars of the opera world, are joking and reminiscing. But their tranquillity is about to be shattered by a surprise new arrival. This wicked, funny and joyous play is about the eccentricities of age, art, and the power of the human spirit. Falling shortly after RLT's 65th birthday, it seemed an appropriate way to celebrate our "old" age.
Produced by Judith Walker
CYRANO DE BERGERAC
By Edmond Rostand, in a new translation by Mike Nixon
26th January - 3rd February 2007, 7.30pm
Cyrano de Bergerac, swordsman, poet, and philosopher. His musketeer-heroics combine with rapier wit, but the bravado belies a passionate love for his exquisite cousin, Roxane. Too ugly to win her for himself, or so he thinks, he agrees to woo her on behalf of another. His tender verse gives voice to the inarticulate, dashing Christian, gaining him her heart just before both men depart for war. We are delighted to premiere Mike Nixon's new adaptation of this classic romantic comedy.
Produced by Mike Nixon
HUMBLE BOY
By Charlotte Jones
16th - 24th March 2007, 7.30pm
A comedy about broken vows, failed hopes, and the joys of bee-keeping. Felix Humble is an astro-physicist in search of a unified field theory. Following the death of his father, he returns home to a difficult and demanding mother, where he realises that his search for unity must also include his own chaotic home life. This superb, award-winning play was first seen at the National Theatre in 2001.
Produced by Dave Lintin
BILLY LIAR
By Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall
11th - 19th May 2007, 7.30pm
Disillusioned with his job as an undertaker's clerk and with his north country family background, Billy Fisher takes refuge in his own invented world. His energetic imagination makes life tolerable for him - but well-nigh intolerable for all around him. He lies his way into and out of every situation, creating ever more tortuous entanglements - and ever more amusement for the audience as we bring the main season to an entertaining close.
Produced by Robert Warburton

ART
by Yasmina Reza
translated by Christopher Hampton
6th - 8th June 2007, 7.30pm
Serge has just bought a very expensive painting. It is about 5 feet by 4 feet, all white, with white diagonal lines. How much would you pay for a white painting? Is it art?? This witty comedy was a huge success throughout its long run in London and on tour.
